Who Are We?

The St. John Ambulance Brigade of Ireland has been at the forefront of providing first aid training and services for over 100 years. Members of our organisation are dedicated to a simple vision; that everyone should have immediate access to first aid no matter where they are or what they are doing at the St. John at Dublin City Marathononset of illness or injury.

We work with the appropriate event organisers, statutory agencies and other organisations to provide first aid cover at public gatherings of all shapes and sizes. Our black and white uniform is known to many patrons of sporting and music events nationwide.

A basic first aid course can help you make the difference between a life saved and a life lost. We have a dedicated team of instructors who provide first aid training to members of the public, at schools and at corporate premises. We also provide public first aid courses and occupational first aid courses at our premises in Dublin, Cork, Drogheda and Limerick. Where appropriate, our courses are externally accredited by FETAC, PHECC, and other bodies.

What We Do

The St. John Ambulance Brigade provides a number of services including Event Medical Cover, First Aid Training and Courses.

Event Medical Cover

The primary service offered by the St John Ambulance Brigade of Ireland is the provision of first aid at public events through the attendence of our members and ambulances. We have being providing this service for over 100 years.

We offer the peace of mind that should any medical emergency arise, the correct personnel and equipment will be in place to deal with it. We help event organisers meet insurance and legal requirements.

Public First Aid Course

Learning first-aid at the St. John Ambulance Brigade is a very rewarding experience. It is also the first step in becoming an active volunteer with our organisation. The course is held in Dublin, Cork, Drogheda, Limerick, and around the country.

The course is intended for those who wish to learn first aid, but cannot take time off work or give up weekends to do so. We have distilled decades of experience in first aid into an excellent course that is certified by the Brigade.

Occupational First Aid Course

Having staff trained in First Aid will help to reduce the effects and seriousness of any accidents or injuries that occur in the workplace, and will also provide all staff with peace of mind. First aid provision is a legal requirement for employers.

This course runs over three full days at our premises in Dublin, Cork and at other locations. Accredited by FETAC as a Level 5 certificate, it is meant for those who intend to act as appointed first aiders in their workplace.
