Bonanza Christmas Festival Drogheda

Sunday, 20 November 2011 19:14 Colin

Friday 18th November saw the start of the first Christmas Bonanza Festival to be held in Drogheda. There was great excitement around the Town and many events organised. There was a parade on Friday night, which saw Santa arrive to town and the Christmas Lights being turned on, with live music on west street. Saturday all the floating candles were released into the river boyne, and Sunday a fantastic fire works display. The Boyne Fisherman Rescue and Recovery service provided their services along the river during the events. Order of Malta Drogheda provided personnel along the route. St John Ambulance provided their 2 ambulances and bike unit for the parade Friday, on Saturday we provided first aid/ambulance cover at scotchhall for the release of the candles and Sunday we provided the same for the fireworks. It was great to see the Town packed and everyone supporting the Event.
