What is Cadets?

Cadets are the youth of St. John Ambulance Brigade. They are between the ages of 11 and 18. There are Cadet divisions all around Ireland.

If you're interested in joining Cadets, please do not hesitate to Contact Us!

Why Become a Cadet?

Becoming a Cadet means you'll learn First Aid skills and get to put them into practice. You will also gain skills such as how to lead groups of people and develop your training skills so you can teach others.

Whatever you're into, you will get the chance to have fun with lots of opportunities to meet new friends, help your local community and try new things.

Where we Meet

We meet each Sunday from 11am to 1pm.

Location: Mell Parish Hall, Upper Mell, Drogheda, Co. Louth

What We Do

Cadets are trained in First Aid and attend duties with the adult members and other Cadet divisions.

Ongoing training provides Cadets with knowledge of many different subjects. These include Care of the Sick, Radio Communications, Use of Ambulance Equipment and many more.

Cadets work towards achieving “The President’s Badge”. This badge encourages a cadet to get involved in a wide range of activities. From Craft to Map Reading, Cadets learn it all.

Cadets take part in competitions with other first aid organisations and within St. John Ambulance. These competitions are great fun for all involved.

Of course Cadets is not all work! Each year Cadets go on trips, camps and outings. Social events are also organised.
